Finally, BSE Sensex closed at 60,621.77 lower 236.66 points, while CNX Nifty ended at 18,027.65, down 80.20 points.

The Indian equity indices ended lower led by HUL and Asian Paints shares.

The gainers on Sensex and Nifty were Coal India and PowerGrid, which gained 1%.

The losers on Sensex and Nifty were HUL, which was lower by 4%. Asian Paints was down by 3%.
