Rupee hits new record low of 80 per dollar

The rupee depreciated 31 paise of 80.15 against the US dollar.

The Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) overarching focus right now is to bring inflation back down to 2 percent goal.

The rupee has hit  the 80 per dollar to hit a fresh record low led by Federal Reserve’s hawkish comments on restrictive policy and on back of crude oil prices.

The rupee depreciated 31 paise of 80.15 against the US dollar.

The Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) overarching focus right now is to bring inflation back down to our 2 percent goal. Restoring price stability will likely require maintaining a restrictive policy stance for some time.
